Entwicklung
Als Ersatz für die bewährte Breguet 14 konstruierte Late für den Dienst bei der werkseigenen Lignes Aiennes Latecoere die Late 17. Diese Maschine war ein Ganzmetall-Kabinenflugzeug für vier Passagiere und aus Duraluminium gefertigt. Als Antrieb im Typ Laté-17-1R diente ein 220 kW (300 PS) leistender Renault-12-Fe-Motor.
Der Erstflug erfolgte im Jahre 1924. Die insgesamt 23 gebauten Maschinen kamen auf der Route Toulouse – Perpignan – Marseille sowie auf einigen Linien in Nordafrika zum Einsatz.

The Latécoère 17 was a French airliner built in 1923 for use on Latécoère's own airline routes between France and Morocco. The prototype was designated the Latécoère 14, reusing the number of an unrelated earlier design that had been rejected. This new aircraft was a parasol wing monoplane of conventional configuration with an enclosed cabin for four passengers and an open cockpit for the pilot. This was Latécoère's first commercially successful design and as production continued, three different engines were fitted.[1][fr] Latécoère 17
