Debido a su proximidad con Canadá, el Aeropuerto internacional de Bellingham funciona de una manera como un aeropuerto de ayuda para el Aeropuerto Internacional de Vancouver. En la página web de Allegiant Air se refiere a este aeropuerto como Bellingham/Vancouver.

A comienzos del 2007, BLI ofrecía vuelos a 3 destinos para la aerolínea Western Airlines. Luego ese mismo año, Skybus Airlines pero las operaciones pararon como lo hizo Western Airlines antes.

El 1 de marzo del 2008, Allegiant Air abrió su sexta base en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Bellingham. En el momento esta aerolínea tiene 2 McDonnell Douglas MD-80 basados en Bellingham.
