L'aéroport international de Sanya-Hongtangwan (chinois simplifié : 三亚红塘湾国际机场 ; chinois traditionnel : 三亞紅塘灣國際機場 ; pinyin : Sānyà hóng táng wān guójì jīchǎng) est un aéroport en construction qui desservira la ville de Sanya dans la province de Hainan, en Chine. Il sera situé sur une île artificielle dans la baie de Hongtang, à environ 20 kilomètres a l'ouest de Sanya. La construction a commencé en 2017 et l'aéroport devrait ouvrir ses portes en décembre 2020[1]^,[2].

Ce sera le premier aéroport maritime de Chine. Il y aura 4 pistes, 3 terminaux et des zones de supports associés. La mise à niveau du terrain devrait être achevée en 2018[3]^,[4].

Sanya Hongtangwan International Airport is an airport planned to be built to serve the city of Sanya in Hainan Province, China. It would be located on an artificial island in Hongtang Bay, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of Sanya. Construction began in 2017, and the airport was expected to be opened in December 2020.[1][2] However the same year, the project was suspended pending a new environmental assessment following complaints from Chinese environmental agency Friends of Nature.[3][4] In 2020, part of the construction of the artificial island was deemed illegal, and further land reclamation was halted.[5][6] In the new plans, the land reclamation was reduced by 0.9 km2 (0.35 sq mi).[7]
