Le Sikorsky XV-2 (désignation constructeur : Sikorsky modèle S-57) était un avion expérimental convertible à rotor débrayable, conçu aux États-Unis dans le cadre d’un programme de recherche conjoint entre l’US Air Force et l’US Army.     Die Sikorsky S-57 (Militärische Bezeichnung XV-2) war in den 1950er Jahren ein Projekt des US-amerikanischen Herstellers Sikorsky Aircraft zum Bau eines experimentellen Wandelflugzeugs. Zum Bau eines Prototyps kam es jedoch nicht. Die S-57 verwendete das selten eingesetzte Stopp-Rotor-Konzept, um vom Helikopterflugzustand in den Starrflügelmodus zu gelangen.

    The Sikorsky XV-2, also known by the Sikorsky Aircraft model number S-57, was a planned experimental stoppable rotor aircraft, designated as a convertiplane, developed for a joint research program between the United States Air Force and the United States Army.     Il Sikorsky XV-2, noto anche con il nome di costruzione S-57, era un progetto impostato dall'azienda statunitense Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation per un aeromobile sperimentale con rotore arrestabile in volo e retrattile. Il progetto, definito un convertiplano, venne sviluppato per una ricerca congiunta tra United States Air Force e United States Army per esplorare le tecnologie necessarie alla realizzazione di un aeromobile in grado di decollare e atterrare come un elicottero, ma in grado di volare a velocità più alte, simili a quelle degli aerei convenzionali.[1]
