Le 22 mai 2010 le Boeing 737 du vol Air India Express 812 entre Dubaï (Émirats arabes unis) et Mangalore (Inde) s'est écrasé à l'atterrissage à 6 h 30 (heure locale — UTC+5:30). Sur les 166 personnes à bord, seules 8 ont survécu à l'accident.

Le 31 mai 2010, il a été annoncé que la boite noire de l'appareil a été retrouvée[1].

Après s'être présenté avec une vitesse excessive, l'appareil atterrit, sort en bout de piste et tombe dans une vallée où il prend feu. Le pilote avait dormi une bonne partie du vol et n'avait repris les commandes que quelques minutes avant de tenter l'atterrissage.

Air-India-Express-Flug 812 war ein Linienflug der indischen Fluggesellschaft Air India Express vom Dubai International Airport in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten zum Bajpe Airport (IATA-Code: IXE) bei Mangalore in Indien. Am 22. Mai 2010 überschoss eine Boeing 737-800 bei der Landung die Landebahn 24 des Flughafens und zerschellte in einem Wald. Das Flugzeug brach entzwei und brannte aus. Bei dem Flugunfall wurden 158 Personen getötet, 8 Personen überlebten den Unfall.

Air India Express Flight 812 was a scheduled international flight from Dubai to Mangalore. On 22 May 2010, the Boeing 737-800 passenger jet operating the flight, crashed on landing at Mangalore. The captain had continued an unstabilised approach, despite three calls from the first officer to initiate a "go-around", resulting in the aircraft overshooting the runway, falling down a hillside, and bursting into flames. Of the 160 passengers and six crew members on board, 158 were killed (all crew members and 152 passengers); only eight survived. This was the first fatal accident involving Air India Express.[1]

Il 22 maggio 2010, intorno alle 06:30 ore locali, il volo 812 dell'Air India Express, operato da un Boeing 737-800,[2] registrazione VT-AXV, programmato dall'aeroporto Internazionale di Dubai all'aeroporto Internazionale di Mangalore in India uscì di pista durante l'atterraggio cadendo in un avvallamento[3] dove si incendiò.[3][4][5] A bordo del velivolo vi erano 160 passeggeri e 6 membri dell'equipaggio; i superstiti furono solamente otto.[6]

Авиалайнер Boeing 737-8HG авиакомпании Air-India Express выполнял плановый рейс IX812 по маршруту Дубай—Мангалур, но после посадки в пункте назначения выкатился за пределы взлётной полосы аэропорта Мангалур и рухнул в овраг. Изначально из находившихся на его борту 166 человек (160 пассажиров и 6 членов экипажа) выжили 9, но 1 пассажир умер по дороге в больницу[1][2].
