Angeflogen wird er international hauptsächlich von Neuseeland (Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington (saisonal)), Australien (Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney), Asien (Hongkong, Seoul) und den USA (Los Angeles, Honolulu) aus, derzeit (April 2015) von den Fluggesellschaften Aircalin, Air Calidonia, Air New Zealand, Air Niugini, Air Pacific, Air Vanuatu, Fiji Airways, Jetstar Airways, Korean Air, Nauru Airlines, Solomon Airlines und Virgin Australia.
Der Flughafen hatte noch bis in die 1980er-Jahre eine hohe Bedeutung für Transpazifik-Flüge, die meist noch nicht ohne Tankstopp möglich waren. Mit dem Erscheinen neuerer Langstreckenflugzeuge wie der Boeing 747-400, der McDonnell Douglas MD-11 oder dem Airbus A340 konnte der Pazifik dann nonstop überquert werden.

Nadi International Airport (IATA: NAN, ICAO: NFFN) is the main international airport of Fiji as well as an important regional hub for the South Pacific islands, located by the coast on the western side of the main island Viti Levu. Owned and operated by Fiji Airports Limited,[2] It is the main hub of Fiji Airways and its domestic and regional subsidiary Fiji Link. The airport is located at Namaka, 10 km from the city of Nadi and 20 km from the city of Lautoka. In 2019, it handled 2,485,319 passengers on international and domestic flights.
