The airstrip appears abandoned. Google Earth 2006 historical imagery shows a maintained, unpaved runway in use. 2014 imagery[2] shows the runway and ramp area overgrown with weeds and shrubs.

The region is served by Faro International Airport, (IATA: FAO, ICAO: LPFR), 48 kilometres (30 mi) southwest.

Der Flugplatz Praia Verde (portugiesisch: Aeródromo da Praia Verde) ist ein portugiesischer Flugplatz in der Stadt Castro Marim nahe den Städten Monte Gordo und Vila Real de Santo António in der Region Algarve am Atlantik. Er wird ausschließlich von Sport- und Privatflugzeugen genutzt und besteht nur aus einer Start- und Landebahn aus zerkleinerten Ziegeln. Ein Vorfeld oder Hangars gibt es am Flugplatz nicht.
