History

Alenia Aermacchi was created on 1 January 2012 as the merger of Alenia Aeronautica and its subsidiaries (Alenia) Aermacchi and Alenia SIA. The former Alenia Aeronautica was created in 1990 by concentrating the Finmeccanica aerospace and defense industries Aeritalia and Selenia.

Alenia Aermacchi war ein italienischer Flugzeughersteller mit Sitz in Venegono Superiore bei Varese (Lombardei). Das Unternehmen gehörte zum Finmeccanica-Konzern, der Anfang 2012 Aermacchi und Alenia Aeronautica fusionierte und damit neben AgustaWestland den führenden Hersteller von Luftfahrttechnik in Italien schuf. Am 1. Januar 2017 ging Alenia Aermacchi ganz in Leonardo[1] auf.
