Le HMS Audacity est le premier porte-avions d'escorte ayant servi dans la Royal Navy, durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. À l'origine, c'est un navire marchand allemand, nommé Hannover, construit par les chantiers Bremer Vulkan AG. Le Hannover est capturé le 8 mars 1940 dans les Caraïbes par la Royal Navy et renommé Sinbad, puis Empire Audacity. Il est ensuite converti en porte-avions et entre en service sous le nom de HMS Empire Audacity, puis de HMS Audacity. Il finit torpillé par l'U-boot allemand U-751 le 21 décembre 1941.

HMS Audacity (D10) war ein Geleitflugzeugträger der Royal Navy, der während des Zweiten Weltkrieges zum Einsatz kam und 1941 versenkt wurde. Die Audacity entstand durch den Umbau des 1940 von der Royal Navy gekaperten deutschen Kombischiffes Hannover und war der erste Geleitflugzeugträger, der auf alliierter Seite während des Zweiten Weltkrieges zum Einsatz gelangte. Nach einer kurzen, aber erfolgreichen Dienstzeit ging das Schiff am 21. Dezember 1941 nach Torpedotreffern des deutschen U-Bootes U 751 auf 43° 45′ 0″ N, 19° 54′ 0″ W43.75-19.9 verloren.

HMS Audacity was a British escort carrier of the Second World War and the first of her kind to serve in the Royal Navy. She was originally the German merchant ship Hannover, which the British captured in the West Indies in March 1940 and renamed Sinbad, then Empire Audacity. She was converted and commissioned as HMS Empire Audacity, then as HMS Audacity. She was torpedoed and sunk by a German U-boat in late 1941.
