The Antoinette 8V was an early French eight-cylinder, liquid-cooled, V engine, the first series production gasoline-fueled, spark plug ignition engine of any kind produced with manifold injection. It was typically rated at 37 kW (50 hp). First produced in 1906 it was used on a number of early French aircraft, including Alberto Santos Dumont's 14 Bis and the Antoinette company's own Antoinette VII.[1]

Der Antoinette 8V ist ein von Léon Levavasseur konstruierter Achtzylinder-V-Flugmotor, der nach dem Ottoverfahren arbeitet. Er wurde zwischen 1906[1] und 1908[2] gebaut und gilt als einer der ersten in Serie hergestellten Motoren mit Saugrohreinspritzung. Verwendung fand er in unterschiedlichen Flugzeugtypen. Später wurde die Leistung des Motors verdoppelt.[3] Ferner gab es auch Modelle mit 16 und 32 Zylindern.[4] Benannt ist der Motor nach Antoinette Gastambide.[5]- [en] Antoinette 8V

L'Antoinette 8V è stato uno dei primi motori aeronautici costruiti in Francia.
