Oksibil Airport (IATA: OKL, ICAO: WAJO) is an airport located at Oksibil, Highland Papua, Indonesia. The airport has connecting flights to Jayapura with Trigana Air Service and Wings Air. The airport's runway is 1,350 metres (4,430 ft) long and is partially marked asphalt (formerly grass) landing strip.[1] The runway can handle Turboprop STOL aircraft but is able to handle larger Turboprop Regional airliner. There are few buildings that acts as a terminal structure as well as a small tower in the tarmac area beside the runway.

Incidents


On August 2nd, 2009, Merpati Nusantara Airlines Flight 9760 crashed on approach to the airport.

On 16 August 2015 Trigana Air Flight 267 crashed on the mountain side en route to the airstrip killing all 54 on board.[2]

In August 2018, another plane crash occurred, when a Pilatus PC-6 Porter traveling from Tanah Merah crashed shortly before it was due to land in Oksibil. It was carrying nine people, including two crew members, and one passenger survived.[3][4]

Der Flughafen Oksibil (indonesisch Bandar Udara Oksibil) ist ein kleiner nationaler Flughafen im Osten der indonesischen Provinz Papua Pegunungan. Der Flughafen liegt rund 500 Meter südlich der Ortsmitte von Oksibil, der Bezirkshauptstadt des Regierungsbezirks Pegunungan Bintang, und ist durch Flüge der nationalen Fluggesellschaft Trigana Air Service an Jayapura im Norden angebunden. Er wird von Regionalverkehrsflugzeugen der Größe Dash 7 oder ATR 42 angeflogen und ist mit dem ICAO-Annex 14 Flughafenreferenzcode 3C klassifiziert.[1]

El Aeropuerto de Oksibil ( IATA: OKL , OACI: WAJO) es un aeropuerto ubicado en Oksibil, Papua, Indonesia. El aeropuerto tiene vuelos de conexión a Jayapura con Trigana Air Service y Wings Air. La pista del aeropuerto tiene una longitud de 1.350 metros (4.430 pies) y está parcialmente marcada en la pista de aterrizaje de asfalto (anteriormente césped). La pista puede manejar aviones Turboprop STOL pero es capaz de manejar un avión comercial Turboprop Regional más grande. Hay pocos edificios que actúan como una estructura terminal, así como una pequeña torre en el área de asfalto al lado de la pista.
