    Der Hamad International Airport (IATA-Code: DOH, ICAO-Code: OTHH) ist der internationale Verkehrsflughafen in Doha, der Hauptstadt Katars. Er ersetzt den bisherigen Doha International Airport, welcher im Mai 2014 für den Linienverkehr geschlossen wurde. Ursprünglich sollte der damals noch New Doha International Airport genannte Flughafen 2009 eröffnet werden. Nach einer Serie von Verzögerungen wurde der Hamad International Airport am 30. April 2014 mit einem Erstflug von Qatar Airways vom alten zum neuen Flughafen eröffnet. Der volle Flugbetrieb wurde am 27. Mai 2014 aufgenommen.

    Hamad International Airport (IATA: DOH, ICAO: OTHH) (Arabic: مطار حمد الدولي, Maṭār Ḥamad al-Duwalī) is an international airport in the state of Qatar, and the home of Qatar’s flag carrier airline, Qatar Airways. Located south of its capital, Doha, it replaced the nearby Doha International Airport as Qatar's principal airport. Formerly known as New Doha International Airport (NDIA), Hamad International Airport was originally scheduled to open in 2008, but after a series of costly delays, the airport finally opened on 30 April 2014 with a ceremonial Qatar Airways flight landing from nearby Doha International. Qatar Airways and all other carriers formally relocated to the new airport on 27 May 2014.[3] The airport is named after the previous Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Hamad International Airport became the first Middle Eastern airport to be awarded the Skytrax's World Best Airport for 2021 in the 2021 World Airport Awards, ending the 7-year dominance of Singapore's Changi Airport.[4] Qatar’s Hamad International Airport has been named the World’s Best Airport for the second year running. The announcement took place at the Skytrax 2022 World Airport Awards, held at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Paris, France.[5]

Da quel giorno hanno incominciato a operarvi 10 compagnie, in attesa del trasferimento di tutte le compagnie che operano nel vecchio aeroporto, compresa Qatar Airways, avvenuto il 27 maggio 2014.
